Note: When deciding on which hikes to do, we select among the easy ones so that Lydia can do them, and on this evening, we hiked about 1.3 miles (round trip) from the entrace to Devil's Garden to Pine Tree Arch and back. This image was made on our way back to the parking lot.

Note: "In Arches National Park, water, extreme temperatures, and other geologic forces have created the greatest diversity of arches in the world, along with many other multihued, finely sculpted rock formations." Delicate Arch as seen from Delicate Arch Viewpoint
October 1, 2009 (4:08 PM)
Note: While SiowFong remained in our rental, all wheel drive sports utility vehicle because Lydia was taking her afternoon nap, I walked up the gravel path at the Delicate Arch Viewpoint for some late afternoon photos.
Photo note: "The signature landform of the park, this most elegant of all the arches is perched precariously on the edge of a sandstone basin. Delicate Arch Viewpoint provides a long range (0.5 mile) view of this landmark." (Tim Fitzharris. National Park Photography. AAA Publishing: 2002. page 38)
Entrance sign
October 3, 2009 (1:00 PM)
Note: As we were leaving Moab to return to Salt Lake City to spend the evening there until our flight the next day, we remembered that we had not taken a picture of the entrance sign to the national park, so we stopped briefly for this shot.
Note: All of these pictures were taken at Arches National Park near Moab, Utah.
