Photos: "I Love My Tiger"

DSC_0017

Lydia is holding Tigger the Tiger, her favorite stuffed animal, and touching one of Tigger's ears, something that she often does.

DSC_0040

Lydia is laughing as she is holding Tigger. Despite knowing that the tiger's name is Tigger as she has heard us use that name to identify him and as she has seen his picture and name in the Winnie the Pooh books, Lydia still calls him "Tiger".

Lydia is hugging her tiger. She frequently reminds us about her affection for Tiger by stating, "I love my tiger."

Lydia is reaching for the rings.
For the last several weeks, Lydia has relished hanging from various pieces of playground equipment, such as monkey bars and rings. At home, she began hanging onto the dining room table until we admonished her not to do that.

Lydia is wearing her sunglasses and her pink sun dress. The dress was a gift that Lydia received during her baby shower at her mother's work place last January.

DSC_0004
Lydia is lifting her arms.
One of the joys of photographing a toddler is that a child at this age can follow instructions. Lydia's mom asked her to raise her arms for this picture, and Lydia immediately complied with her mother' s request.

Does the words "cool" or "chic" come to mind with this image of Lydia?

The sun was blazing today, necessitating plenty of water, sunscreen, and the sun hats. We visited the strawberry festival during the late afternoon for about two hours, but it was still sweltering at that time of the day.

Photos: Northgate Mall Morning Walk

DSC_0007
Ma Wee is pushing Lydia in her stroller.
Because Ma Wee does not leave our home during the week days in which she is caring for Lydia, I thought that going to a local mall would provide Ma Wee with a temporary change in scenery and some exercise, so we strolled twice around the perimeter of the mall this morning.

DSC_0034

After sitting in the stroller through one round trip through the mall, Lydia wanted to walk and push the stroller. Ma Wee is walking beside Lydia and guiding the stroller's direction.

Photos: Daniela's Birthday, Petting Farm

DSC_0017
Lydia and her mom are walking around the enclosure that houses the goats and towards the small barn to see some other animals.
As part of the birthday package for Daniela, a farm tour for the guests was included. "A Farrel-McWhirter Farm Tour provides a fun and educational opportunity for children to meet, feed, and learn about the farm animals. We are home to ponies, fowl, goats, sheep, rabbits, cats, an alpaca, Eeyore the donkey, and seasonal animals including pigs. During this 1-hour tour you will learn about this working farm and its interesting history. Maximum 18 children. Available year round." Lydia thoroughly enjoyed seeing and interacting with the various farm animals.

Photos: Daniela's Birthday

DSC_8577
Lydia is touching the straw that is attached to her apple juice container.
At our home, we rarely allow Lydia to consume juice unless we have guests to our home for a meal, occasions during which she drinks some sparkling apple cider, and we have asked Lydia's day care staff not to serve her juice during snacks (giving her water instead); as a result, when Lydia receives an opportunity to drink juice, it is a treat for her. (We discourage juice consumption for two reasons: its promotion of dental caries and our desire for Lydia to eat fruit instead of drink juice.)

DSC_8641

In her right hand, Lydia is carrying her two party favors that Erika Tejada, Daniela's mother, gave to her. One favor was a bowling set with one plastic bowling ball and ten pins, and the other was a set of buckets. In her left hand, she is holding her juice.
