Photos: Carousel Ride

DSC_0060
Lydia is riding a horse on the Qwest Carousel across the street from Westlake Center.
The Fungs, Uncle Victor and Auntie Ellen, have been wanting to take Lydia to ride the merry-go-round for about a year, and after church today, we met them and their daughter, Tracy, here, so they treated us to multiple carousel rides, experiences that delighted Lydia. Lydia enjoyed this activity so much that she did not want to leave.

Beginning with Christmas Eve, December 24, 2008, we allowed Lydia to open just one or a few gifts each day. Here Lydia is holding a 2009 Melbourne Zoo calendar from Uncle Tony, SiowFong's second oldest of three brothers, and Auntie Janice.

While mom was looking around for some post-Christmas bargains, Lydia and dad spent time in the toy department. The toys that most interested Lydia today were electronic gadgets like this laptop computer.

Mom and Lydia are leafing through a binder that has a number of birthday cakes that Sam's Club makes. Among these was one with a Winnie the Pooh theme (though Tigger was not on the cake), so mom selected that one for the party to commemorate Lydia's third birthday later this week in Chesapeake, Virginia, the city where Lydia's paternal grandparents live.
A Sam's Club manager kindly called a Chesapeake, Virginia Sam's Club and spoke with staff at that branch's bakery to place the order today.

After lunch, PoYing Chan, one of Lydia's mom's friends whom we had not seen for nearly a year, is helping Lydia change the diaper for Isabelle.
Due to the snow and ice, our other guests, the Chews, were not able to come to our home today for Christmas lunch.
